It is apparent that iTunes plays vital role in transferring videos from window XP PC to iPad 3. Please follow these steps as below:

1. Connect iPad to iTunes on PC. And iTunes sometimes will inform you of updating your iTunes version.

2. Click the iPad icon on the top sidebar.

3. Move to certain video folder like "Movies"/"TV Shows“ or others that you'd like to transfer from computer with window XP to iPad 3.

4. Press "Sync" and "Apply" at the bottom.

5. If the processing bar goes to the end, you can finish transferring videos from window computer to iPad 3.

What format are they in?

- MOV / MP4 / M4V? Then, most probably they'll work in the stock Videos client. Just drag them to the desktop iTunes and sych from there. This is all explained at http://ipod.about.com/od/ipad/qt/sync-movies-to-ipad.htm

- Not MOV / MP4 / M4V? Either remux / reencode them to get a third-party player (AVPlayerHD etc.) capable of decoding that particular format.

If your videos belong to the second category, let me know both their format and resolution so that I recommend you the best solutions.

Well, if it's only 720p (and not 1080p), then, AVPlayerHD and ProPlayer will surely play them back without hiccups. So should the free(!) QQPlayerHD ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/qqplayerhd/id434585208?mt=8). I think you should give at least the latter a try - after all, it's free.

(A QQPlayerHD review is at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/review-brand-new-free-video-player-qqplayerhd )

Hi,

Follow thease instrusctions and you will have movies on your ipad.

1. Open iTunes (or download it and install)

2. File > Add to libary > Choose video > Open.

3. Find your video on the left pane in iTunes under "movies" or "TV shows".

4. connect your ipad via USB to your computer.

5. Once your iPad has appered on the left pane under "devices"

6. Drag the video from your iTunes Libary to your iPad.

7. Your iPad should start syncing your video over to your iPad, sync info will appear in the top area of iTunes, it is perfectly normal for your iPad to do other things during syncing aswell as copying your video, such as backing up and syncing contacts and/or music, other videos. You can find the settings of what gets automaticly synced to your iPad by selecting your iPad in the left pane and finding the nessery type of media and select the relevent settings, if you have any more questions about iTunes syncing, please reply to this.

I hope this helped!!!

In that case you will have to convert them to a .MOV file as that is apples native video format, I reccomend using www.online-convert.com and do it online.

Well, for small (less than 100 Mbyte) it's indeed an excellent and quick choice. If, on the other hand, you want to convert a large(r) AVI, you'll end up having to pay $16...$49 a month(!) - and, then, even with the latter, you can still only convert files up to 1 Gbytes in size.

All in all, I only recommend it for small videos. For larger videos, you'll want to use the free HandBrake instead on your local device - unless you have plenty of money to waste, of course.

Thanks so much. I have not heard the apps and thought iTunes was the only tool. Have successfully put films to my iPhone via iTunes, but failed to some specific videos, don't know why, My videos are playable on my computer.

I accident found Dropbox can do it too through Catherine's explanation.http://www.m2mate.com/resource... Dropbox is much more familiar for me.

I am pretty sure that you are doing the trick! You are misleading people. 😠😠

By following the link you show, I thought I can go to the m2mate site for more information, but mistakenly entered a site that totally promotes commercial software from other unknown site. It has nothing to do with your description "I accident found Dropbox can do it too through Catherine's explanation. Dropbox is much more familiar for me."

The right link should be http://www.m2mate.com/resources/how-to-download-video-to-iphone-without-itunes.h tml The title of the article is "how Catherine transfers her video from computer to iPhone without iTunes".

I finally find out that you use a popular article's link (not complete http://www.m2mate.com/resource...) from an authorized site as the anchor text, instead of using the link to the resource, but replacing with other ad site. What a shame!

If you want to promote your product or service, that is fine, but please DO NOT act like this way.

Video format is the problem. If they are in MP4 or MOV, you can simply move them to iPad 3 with iTunes or Dropbox mentioned in Catherine's experience. But for other video formats, even you sync them to iPad 3, they can't be played for the incompatible reason. Convert them to MP4 or use the third-party video player app both works. It depends on your choose.
