Jul 25, 2012 8:42 PM in response to _iceNutsby applefandan,You need a MacBook Air that is 2011 or newer. Additionally, you will need to run software update and download a firmwre update in order to see the power nap option in the Energy preference pane. Please note that software update is now in the updates pane in the Mac App Store.

Jul 25, 2012 10:40 PM in response to applefandanby jediobiwan,I have run the firmware update on my Mid 2011 Macbook Air and still don't have powernap options for some reason. Not in the energy saver pane at least. And trying to close the computer while backing up to my Time Capsule caused it to fail.

Jul 26, 2012 12:30 AM in response to jediobiwanby _iceNuts,Yes, the update in Mac App Store doesn't function well actually. So you should try to download the firmware from this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5394?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US&utm_source=loop insight.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+loopinsight%2FKqJb+(The+Loo p)
I reinstalled the update from there, and now I can see the option in my panel.
