Mountain Lion not syncing reminders or messages from iPhone.

Any one else having this problem? All the reminders that have shown up on my Macbook are all months old. Nothing is syncing....

Messages isn't syncing either.

All settings are turned on under iCloud on my phone.

Firstly go to Settings/iCloud on the iphone and just check that the individual apps are switched on to sync.

If they are, then on the Mac, go to System Preferences/Mail, Contacts and Calendars and click on iCloud in the left column. Deleselect the service not working, then reselect it.

If that doesn't work, just reset iCloud on the Mac. Go to System Preferences/iCloud and log out and back in again. When you log out you will be asked if you want to keep a copy on your Mac. If you do, when you log back in again, you will have a listing of things on iCloud and another under it in On My Mac. I don't like the double listing, so always select remove from Mac. Everything on iCloud will be redownloaded onto the Mac again when you log back into iCloud.

Failing that, then the issue is most likely on the iphone. Try a restart of the phone, then if that doesn't work log out of iCloud on it and back in again. Never had to do that though to get things syncing.

In my case, it looks like the phone was fine / not an issue. On the Mac, I deactivated and then reactivated the iCloud sync of calendars and reminders. Then, when I re-activated it it seemed hosed with Calendar showing a CalDav setup instead of recognizing it as iCloud with push notifications. Once I restarted, however, both Calendar and Reminders seem to work fine and be properly synced. It's a bit irritating to have to go through all that, but it seems 100% fine now!

Thanks!

Are you seeing your reminders synced on icloud.com? One of the notes I found while searching essentially suggested that you need to create a list for reminders in icloud, then add reminders to that list on the mac and then they sync up and down to all devices. That's been my experience. It also allows you to create reminders that don't sync if / when you need or want to. Good luck!

I did have exactly that problem. I unchecked Calendars and Reminders on my Mac in the iCloud System Preferences and re-checked it. When you uncheck, you delete all the info on the Mac. It takes a while to re-sync, because it syncs a lot of data (at least in my case, since I have many calendars). But eventually worked for me. I can finally enter an item in my Reminders for Mac and it gets synced in the cloud and shows up on my iPhone and iPad.

Good point. My mac reminders were not on icloud.com. I followed marcolac's unchecking - rechecking idea - and reminders are now getting from my mac to iCloud - and now to my phone...

I exported the ones that were on my mac first before I did the unchecking stuff (File/Export...)- as they would have been removed forever. I imported them back in File/Import...

Restarting my phone did the trick. For my situation I had stopped using Reminders for a number of months and returned to it (after being unsatified with similar apps). I had old list that I deleted upon returning to Reminders but they kept coming back, and a new reminder from today that wouldn't sync to my Mac. iCloud has a few kinks in syncing but overall this has been my only issue to date.

As a tip, avoid making changes to your accounts on the Mac, just restart your phone. I tried the account changes at first and when re-adding my account some list just appeared completely blank on my Mac when I had task on my phone.
