Q: need help to run video calling in iBook G3 with Mac OS 10.4.11

What kind of webcam do you have?

There are many different models of Logitech webcams !!!

Which model do you have ???

You need an isight firewire webcam or a webcam compatible with an older ppc mac running tiger.

Also,the other person you Skype needs a webcam as well! Good luck!

Most logitech webcams only work with windows and need the software to run.

If your ibook g3 has a firewire 400 port,buy a isight webcam and plug it in. Needs no software as it is plug n play.

I use a ibook g4 with isight on skype and it works fine!

They need the software to run, all right, but many do work with Macs.

But whether it will work with an older PowerPC-based Mac depends on which model the webcam is. Newer ones require a newer Mac.

Unless you have a newer Mac mini, you're not likely to need a webcam because newer Macs (MacBooks and iMacs) have built-in webcams.
