Jittery dock and drag windows animation

Hello.
I was really confused, when I first started dragging a window in ML - and the window started jitter.

Dock is also jittering like a mad rabbit, when I slide over it.

Scrolling of long pages in safari (and anywhere else) - same nasty jitter.

Switching between desktops? No, you don ask me!!! It's awful.

It looks weird. Weird for the "most advanced" OS in the world.

Yes, I know I've got old mac pro (early 2008), and not-so-new video card (ATI Radeon HD 5770) But jittering windows is way to much.

After all my mac is still in the list ))

Lion did well, Snow Leo and Leo they all could do it smoothly.

Any ideas?

Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion

Same problem here, Mountain Lion, iMac purchased Feb 2012 ... 2.5ghz Intel Core i5

Main problem, I have top right hot corner set up, to show desktop.

When the open windows clear right, they jitter like crazy, and the same in reverse.

But .... it has stopped doing it since I started this reply !!!

All I did was enable cookies, and have System Prefs open to check hot corners.

It's back again now !!

Using Camino, effect is still there, but less pronounced using Safari.

I had a similar problem When I upgraded from LEOPARD to LION (on the same 2,5 i5 MID 2011 IMAC), the only thing that stop de Jittering was a clean installation from scratch. i`ll wait four a couple of weeks before doing that long process again!!

The cookies thing didn`t solve the problem, i think maight be something with the graphic card driver...

Sorry for mi english

PROBLEM SORTED, NO MORE JITTER !

Update after visit to Apple store.

They plugged in Ethernet for local hardware test, no faults found.

After a few more tests, the suggestion was to backup everything, erase the HDD, and do a clean install of Mountain lion 10.8 using the USB recovery stick I had made earlier, using how to on the internet.

Success, all jitter has gone !!

Starting up in SAFE mode seems to remove the jittering (Hold Shift key at startup)

But screen refresh is noticeably longer, much longer

So now I going to test out all my login items.

OK, installed them all one by one, no jitter.

Must be an non-essential kernel extension that is not loaded in safe mode.

I rang up Apple Support (90 day support as have installed ML) and after rebooting several times with various options, I am now booked into my local Apple Store for service to try & trace the fault.

Well, finally, find myself a couple of days to make a clean install of mountain lion.

It helped.

And my mac seems to run faster and smoother now.

It handled three updates well )) From Leopard to Mountain Lion (incl. SL and Lion)

Without cleaning the HD.

After all it's not that bad to make a clean install, but a mess with reinstalling anything I needed was not what I wanted to do on my weekend )))

Now I have nothing bad to say about ML. Nothing exciting either ))

It looks like my problem is related to having my monitors in a portrait orientation with my MacPro tower. If I put them in landscape with my tower they worked fine in Mountain Lion and if I had 2 in portrait with my MacbookPro Retina they worked fine with Mountain Lion. Dunno why a MacPro tower + Portrait monitors causes the problem (probably the video card) but I put Lion back on and its fine now, oh well.
