upgrade to Mountain Lion broke my exchange account

I must tell you I have been with Apple since the IIe days. this is very frustrating. When I enter the proxie number into Firefox everything is good to go. Any app or application associated with Apple is a no go.

Does Apple monitor discussion boards, and do they react?

Simple fix. In the Mail application, go to settings for each gmail account and change the incoming mail server from imap.gmail.com to imap.googlemail.com.

Probably Google being a ***** over Maps, YouTube, Search royalties, not Apple.

I have to say ... since my ML update mine has been rock solid. Set both IN and OUT to my remote.DOMAIN.COM dns of the Exchange server and everywhere I go it's working fine 🙂 Ya the calendar and contacts needed a kick in the pants to configure this to ... but fingers crossed the settings are sticking.

It does seem a bit odd that all these programs cann't seem to share the settings for the account.

I have the SAME exact issue. I have called Apple Support, but nobody seems to think it's that big of a deal! PLEASE FIX THIS, APPLE! None of my folders are syncing over on my exchange email. Apple tells me it's a microsoft exchange issue; godaddy.com tells me it's an apple issue.

This worked for me :

Goto Mailbox->Rebuild.

I did end up Rebuilding the mailbox, which allowed me to send/receive messages; but, it hasn't pulled over all of the folders, such as my sent folder, from exchange. Do you have that same issue?

Everything now works. Sent folder, Trash folder, Drafts, Inbox, etc.

I can send, but to receive emails on my macbook pro. Though email seems to work fine I iPhone 5. Apple needs to get on this one quick...

I've tested this on exchange email account and it worked just fine, i can't guarantee it will work for you, but as long as you have an issue with, why not to give it a shot.

1. first go to Mac Mail Preferences

2. Under Accounts, go to Advanced tab.
then from the drop menu "under keep copies of messages for offline viewing"

Select: "Don't keep copies of any messages" when the warning message pop-up click ok

after you save, close Mail and then re-open it, then the emails you've been trying to delete/move and etc... it will be flushed and the email will start sync normally.

remember to go back and put the settings as it was before, then close Mail and re-open.

I decided to keep not copies on my mac for offline viewing at all... It's my work account and I don't hardly need it at home.

I had the same issue with my Corporate Exchange after upgrading to Mountain Lion- But your fix seems to have worked. Thank you.

I have talked to 3 reps from Apple that were no help unfortunately and directed me to Office 2011 Microsoft Support- whom only wanted my Credit card to assist me further for the tune of $259. Had no where to turn.

Now all is working using your steps.

I just posted a description of my problem, and then I saw your post here.

Unfortunately, my exchange account already had the option "Don't keep copies of any messages" option selected.

Apparently I need a deeper fix than this.
