Q: Using AirPlay/Home Sharing with an Apple TV connected to the network with ethernet.

Can an Apple TV (3rd Generation) have AirPlay/Home Sharing content streamed to it, if it's connected to the network via ethernet? I would assume so considering that it is still connecting to the same network, however I don't have the option to do so. I don't want to use my Apple TV on Wi-Fi because I have issues where the content will skip and cut out.

You never got an answer on this site? Bummer. I just installed my Apple TV and wanted to use airplay

Yes, it works.

Try restarting all devices and your router.

Check your router is not one of the occasional ones that hide wired and wifi LANs from each other and treat them as separate LANs.
