Missing picture in Messages for Mac

Hi!

I hope you can help me. Just did a fresh install of Mountain Lion and set up Messages. Everything works just perfect. But there is a tini tiny thing that is bothering me. I use MS Exchange to sync e-mail, calender and contacts. Most of my contacts have a picture linked to them. I can see these pictures in Messages, but i cannot se my own picture? Anybody know why that is?

In contacs my picture is shown, and under users in settings. But not in message.

MacBook Pro (17-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Hi,

I am having the same problem. My picture in messages is not showing although everyone elses picture is showing. In mac contacts my picture is showing and in system preference my picture is showing in my account. The only different I would say is I use iCloud as my defualt address and have no On My Mac address book.

I assume I meesages pulls the contact details from "contacts" and messages showing contacts pictures' is evedant that its pulling them. My only thought here is that I need to have my contact info not only in iCloud but also in On My Mac.

Hope we get a reply here as to why we don't see it!

Okay the problem is as follows:

If you do a fresh clean install of Mountain Lion you don't see your own thumbnail picture in Messages. Even if you have a thumbnail picture under you login profile or on your contact card.

If you do an upgrade to Mountian Lion, it will show your picture, but you are not able to change it in Messages, even if you change it under your contact card or login profile.

Looking forward to update that fixes this issue.

Go to Window > Buddies. There is blank square (without your picture) in Buddies list window, click on it and select your picture. This fixed the problem for me.

Thanks for the hint, but it wasn't quite the right place but it did lead my to the solution, so thanks! Little did i know, but there is a function called "Change my picture" - Hello Scherlock, don't i feel stupid right now. Some how i didn't saw this.

Anyways thanks for leading my in the right direction.
