Time remaining on Mountain Lion battery
On Mountain Lion, is there a way to have the menu bar show the time remaining as Lion used to? All it shows now is a battery percentage.

This was the first thing I noticed when I opened my new Air. What a load of mullarky. How DARE you, Apple? How dare you...
Yeah this is a real joke. I also wrote a complaint to apple now. I am staying with 10.7.5 for the moment until this is fixed. i really LOVED 10.6.8. ... 10.7 got worse with tons of useless features i don't expect from an OS but from a phone, but nevertheless was still usable (the scroll direction was the next big joke, btw ... ). 10.8 is the first OS X in history that made me immediately go back to the previous version 10.7 again. after a couple of hours i restored my backup ...
no more to say.
And 10.8.2 didn't fix it. Getting seriously grumpy here...
I cant tell if the people in this thread are being serious or not.
It says time remaining when you click on the battery. If all this ******** is because you "cant see it at a glance", let me just fill you in on something.
When it used to say "2:25 left", or remaining - whatever - this is just an estimate. The second you deviate from your current use, you completely throw out its estimation.
So Apple probably thought, with you know, all the "professionals" that use Apple products, that simply glancing at 25% left of a battery that usually last 6 hours, probably means they have "around" 1:30 left.
I know Im not Einstein, but am I seriously missing something, the rather ****** comments make me cringe inside like im surrounded by smug 118TSI drivers.
Sorry, dont mean to offend everyone.
@WisdomTooth:
You're completly right!
For those who can't live without the time in the statusbar:

As I mentioned before...
Works perfect since 2-3 weeks!😀
Oh for **** Sake its a battery - Just Use it - There are more important things in life
That annoys me. I dont have time to be always checking how much time I have on my battery. I liked it when I could Just glance up from my work and know howmuch time I have on my battery. When I start working on some thing I dont want to stop and click on the battery to see how much time I have remaining. I would like it if Apple would bring that feature back.
Just Download this >>> SlimBatteryMonitor
Does the same thing in the old way.

AGREE! I dispise that they took this option out! Not everyone likes percent! Estimated time in hours & minutes makes MORE sense to MOST people. Please give it back Apple and don't make us take an extra step in order to see this.
Try this: https://github.com/codler/Battery-Time-Remaining/downloads it acts exactly as the original, and it's free!
Hey smartass, we all do know it is not accurate. But guess what, we don't care! - Humans are trained to get a time feeling since very early in their life. It's a lot more natural to say "you have 1:30 left" instead of 33% ...
Thanks aburger for that tipp. It's exactly what we wanted!
Well you do care.. And yes.. You are a human.
1:30 would not be 33%. :) And hopefully don't get a big arm from clicking the battery icon.. enjoy your battery.
lmfao.... 33% could be absolutely *anything* in terms of remaining battery life time - hence all the ******** above as to why Apple took a knock to the head and removed the time element of the battery meter!
Whoa... you can't say "bi tch ing"? (as I did in my immediate comment above!)
