This morning I got another code from Apple, again, it was the wrong code. This time it did not give me the error, but instead, it gave me OS X Server App from the App Store.
I got this too! *** Apple????????
The message I got when I entered the code was something like "Can't install OS X Server on this computer because it requires OS X Mountain Lion to be installed first."
Apple is rubbing salt in the wound considering all I want is my copy of Mountain Lion!

Yep, just redeemed my replacement code at 12:12 PM EST and it's OS X Server.
No need for name calling or anything. This kind of thing happens all the time people. Just remain calm. There are people that don't have food to eat and you are cursing and swearing apple for a simple mix up that is not harming you in any way?
no, just remain calm and wait for the correct code to be sent. Send emails and calls to apple support but be very calm. there is no reason to get upset, it's not like we spent money on this.
Add me to the growing list of folks that know received the second redemption code and it's for the OS X Server.

Those who got their second ( or third) code - when did you purchase your MBP? I ordered mine on June 26, finally got it on Tuesday. I sent my free uptodate request yesterday morning at 9am EST. Still no second code up untill now - 29hours after.
Add me to the list. I ordered 3 rMBPs on the 12th of June and sent in all three codes at 835 AM EST. All three codes were bad on the first shot, Server on the second, and finaly correct on the third round. Yikes😕
