Issues with addressbook/contacts/iCloud and duplicate entries?

Have Mac, pad and phone. I am NOT syncing email accounts but everything else.

In iTunes, backing up to iCloud. In addressbook and under ALL contacts is lists 112 entries with some duplicates. Shows on my mac 44 cards and 68 cards all on iCloud.

I deleted some of the duplicates and could not see many of those anymore. I used Time Machine to rebuild and want to know how this can be fixed? I used the look for duplicates and it found a few but there are still more any suggestions?
