Notifications not working Mountain Lion :(

Same here - I open NC and it is blank. I've configured everything correctly, turned it off/on. I get the pop-ups and banner notifications but NC itself is blank. As you can see in the screenshot, nothing is being populated.

I am having the same problem. My NC looks exactly like yours empty. imessages do not pop up either.

I have the same problem. All system preferences settings enabled. Notifications working fine on iPad and iPhone. Nothing in notifications on iMac after upgrading to mountain lion.

Exactly the same here. Tried on both my macbook pro's one retina, one mid 2009. Notifications doesn't work.

To get Mail notifications in Notifications Center, Mail app has to be running and without focus (this is why sending mails to oneself does not work).

For Reminders notifications, Reminders app does not have to be running.

I'm having the same problem, running an Early 2011 MBP 15", having upgraded from Lion. Notifications are on, I'm receiving emails while Mail is not in focus, and yet the notification center is not being population with notifications.

I am also having this problem, the way I thought this would work is that if someone sends me a message to my iphone from using imessage rather than SMS, then this would also appear on notifications on my macbook air which now has Mountain on. My notifcations area is blank, no messages whtasoever?? Has Apple failed me?

Once I woke up my iMac this morning, incoming email banners started to display and the notification center was showing the emails. So for whatever reason, it seems to be working today. The only weirdness I'm experiencing is a general slowness and intermittent spinning beach ball cursor in Safari.

I rebooted my Mac and notifications appear to working now. I get notifications for Twitter, Messages, Mail and Calendar. Pretty slick.

I can't yet get any notification, just globes, but nc still empty...

what's the point of notifications if you have to run the app?

I finally got it to work by going to preferences and turning off (unchecking) all apps from the notifications center, then turning them back on (checking the first box), then rebooting the mac.

I have left the Mail app on and now am getting flooded with notifications, both popups and in the notifications center.

We shall see if it also works when Mail is not running. That would be helpful in that I like to get notifications of incoming mail, but prefer to use the gmail browser client rather than Apple's Mail Center, which still lacks in spam filtering capabilities. Trying to figure out a way to get Gmail to not send filtered spam to the Mail client, but that may entail creating a new gmail account that would receive only the good stuff.
