Mountain Lion - Mission Control doesn't work after wake up out of sleep mode. How to solve that?

Hi, I have the same problem too (Mountain Lion on Macbook 5.1). Track pad is not fully functional after wake from sleep, but works fine after a restart.

I have the same problem on my iMac as well. After sleep only scrolling and cursor movement works with the trackpad. No other gestures are recognized. I can do a killall Dock from the terminal however and the gestures will start working again without a reboot.

I am having the same problem on my macbook. Its really annoying, I dont want to logout everytime my computer goes to sleep.

A quick solution is to open terminal and type "killall Dock" this will restart mission control.

Or you could kill the dock in Activity Monitor.

I have the same problem too. Mid 2009 MacBook Pro 13".

Also, where in Lion I could leave a download going or something processing in the background the machine would not go to sleep and not interupt the process, though in ML the machine will go to sleep no matter what is happening and therefore interupt the process/download.

These sorts of things should really have been picked up in the beta testing!!!

I've always installed the latest versions and never had any problems, always looking smug at those that aren't as brave and decide to wait, though I'm not looking so smug now!!!

Ya, I noticed that my computer would go to sleep while downloading. But when I had lion my computer would not go to sleep at all, unless I closed the lid. So I'll take sleep over no sleep.

How do you uninstall those ? And can you reinstall after?

I was having the same problem with my 27in iMac, as soon as I restarted it it was fine...

Also the, i dont know how it is really called in the english version, because im on a German OS, "Programme Window" doesnt work too. I recognized this, because i habe MC and "Programme Windiow" on my active corners.

killall Dock is a fast solution, but i hope Apple will fix this.

I have the same issue on my MacBook Pro late 2008. All gestures stop working after waking up from sleep. I can however open up mission control from spotlight, so it's not about MC itself but rather the multi-touch gestures.

I have the same issue, mid-2007 iMac. I don't have a trackpad, but I can't use any of the shortcuts defined for mission control. Thus, I can't pick screens, explode my desktop to see all windows, create new desktops. the most I can do is do ctrl+(right/left arrow)

Yep. Same Issue on my 2011 Mac Mini.

Mission Control fails.

Also, I'm having issues with my monitor waking up from sleep.

This stinks.

Yep same issue here...I'm running a 2011 MacBook Pro and Mission Control commands fail coming out of wake up. Only fix I've found is restarting which obviously isn't a good long-term solution.
