Is anyone having issues with Pages 09 or Keynote 09 after updating to Mountain Lion?

Is anyone having issues with Pages 09 or Keynote 09 after updating to Mountain Lion? Since I have updated neither will open, it just gives me a button to retry and it still won't open.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion

Have you updated the iwork apps with the Mountain Lion compatibility update ? - see AppStore, search for updates .

If this is true and still issues, you should run disk utility to fix and repair permissions, probably also a reboot.

But for me these apps do work fine ( better then ever with their new OSX 10.8 capabilities ) .

I am having the same problem, although the apps will launch, I can't open any files and it just sits there when I try to open a template. I have run the update from the downloaded ML iWork update, reinstalled multiple times, used the App Store update have ML update iWork for me (all updates processed fine with no errors), rebooted, repaired permissions, tried them under another login (still not working) and even moved my templates out of the app support folder with no luck. I even deactivated iCloud to see if that was the problem. Still can't open any pages documents I had made in Lion using the same iWork install (disc not App store). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have done all the updates as well and still not able to open in docs in iwork 09. I even downloaded the update from Apple support site. The folder is named iWork '09 and the contents in the folder--keynote, pages, and numbers--are all updated, so I'm not sure why I cannot open any docs. I was sent a word doc and it usually opens in pages but it will not. The same thing has happened with the file i received from Numbers. I can only read docs on my ipad and iphone but nothing on my macbook. I'd appreciate any help as I need thes docs for work. iWork 09 was installed on my macbook when I purchased it new. Yet, it doesn't show as being installed in the MAc App store.

I'm having the same problem, and I'm taking a composition course over the summer--I need to work on a paper that's due Thursday! 😟 I had the disc version of Pages, and it worked fine in Lion. But then when I updated, Pages would no longer open. I reinstalled it from the disc and did the update. Now the program launches, but it won't open any documents. I read on a few websites that this is a problem with the disc version, and can be solved by downloading the AppStore version instead, but I refuse to spend 20 dollars and don't find that to be a very reasonable solution.

Has anyone figured this out yet? Otherwise I'll have to download Open Office until it gets fixed.

I went to the Genius Bar and I was told that with the update, my docs are showing up when I try to open them bc of the way they're showing up saved now. The docs need to be saved as a .doc extension. Therefore, I have to do save file and and do command i and go in and rename file with .doc extension. Then, I'm able to open my docs. I hope there's an update to iWork 09 very soon bc this is time consuming and annoying. The ironic thing is that all my docs open fine in iWork 09 on my iPad and iPhone just not on my MacBook. Hope this helps someone.

I had similar issue when I upgraded to Lion.

If I recall correctly, I changed the com.apple.iwork.(pages/numbers).LSSharedFileList.Plist.Lockfile to add .old on the end. When you open iWork app it may be a bit slower while it creates a new file you renamed. If it doesn't work, you can undo change by restoring original name after deleting newly created one.

I notice I also changed com.apple.iWork09.PList.Lockfile to .old

In finder, click GO, then hold option key to reveal LIBRARY. Select LIBRARY then Preferences

I'm sorry but exactly WHERE are these updates? The app store splits to phone and pad and I see no where to get updates for these computer apps -- and searching gets me nowhere. And when I ask my computer to search for updates, it says there are none.

I have a new retina display, data was transfered over from old mac book BUT I reinstalled all the apps from the 09 disk and they are mine. Keynote displays an error message and has to be force quit -- HELP

The update is on the download section of the apple site -- I just downloaded. It has managed to now grey out all the files it just didn't want to open before.

I tried the .doc change, got a message that the file couldn't be opened in word

What a MESS this is -- I'm making a genius bar appointment thank god I bought one to one with the new retina display
