Don't have any 3rd party plugins now. It's a fresh install of ml and logic. I was playing around with stock plugins and audio only yesterday. It was a painful experience. Am even more worried to know lion had that problem too. May downgrade to snow leopard

any solution in this case so far cose this problem drives me crazy every time when I do anything in logic eq and multiprocessor just freeze all app for over a minute wrrrrr.... :/ and my mac goes mad with fan over 5000 rpm

I'm having the same problem. Sometimes it freezez for up to 1-2 minutes and then carries out all actions at once. FIX this Apple it's a huge creativity blocker and bad for our profession as producers!

Has anyone noticed if there's network activity going on while the freeze/delays happen?

If so, what happens if you quit Logic and disable network connectivity.

Good idea Pancenter - I hadn't noticed.  I'll check this on my next launch, unless someone else beats me to it.

I was also thinking that perhaps this had something to do with MagicMouse scrolling, which I know sends way more data (even accidental scrolling when you're just hovering or holding the mouse), and that perhaps it'sflooding the UI buffer.  Just a thought.

I'm going to call Apple Support - I think it's the only way we're going to get any swift action on this.  I need a fix for this yesterday!

Mark, I think there may be two types of delay happening, one definitely sounds UI related... possibly the OS being tweaked for Retina support, the other described by XOV above seems different.. maybe not?  One of the threads mentioned Apple having a fix in 3-4 weeks.

So I hit this today during a full day working on a very busy mix. I don't use a lot of plugins, but I started to get a very laggy UI just during operations like changing track outputs; the menus would stick and take several seconds to respond.

Disabling the network made no difference, although I did start getting numerous alerts telling me that Logic had detected a device called "Airplay" when I re-enabled it, which was arguably even more annoying.

Having this exact same problem on Lion ever since I bought my iMac last year. Pathetic and killing my creativity.

    Similat thred here:

I'm having the same problem. It renders Logic pretty much unusable.

It's a shame that the logic team doesn't test their software to support the new OS

Macbook Pro Retina, Mountain Lion, Logic Pro 9.1.7.

Same issue here after upgrading from SL to ML, GUI locks up. Sometimes I have to wait for the entire track to finish playing before control comes back! If it happens with loop markers switched on, it usually requires a force quit.

I have reported it to Apple, please - everyone do the same.

I did find reverting back to internal audio rather than my Edirol FA-101 firewire audio interface, improved the situation, but not to the point where it's usable in any professional way.

These and related problems NEED to be addressed by Apple, everyone experiencing delays and path/folder problems need to call Apple as this requires an official solution not workarounds.  Call Apple, you can asked to be bumped up a level to advanced technical support... explain  the problem clearly.  failing to to so means the problems will be around longer than it needs to be.

Just create a new folder in the "Application Support" folder  (follow the path via your print screen) and rename it WIVI.

    Cheers

Yes, same problem since upgrading to Mountain Lion -- only my lag can be between one and two minutes before Logic responds to a mouse or keyboard command and stops playback (or will respond to a key or mouseclick at all.) I suspect my delay may be longer because I'm running Logic on a slower, older IMac.  In addition, I've had some odd timing issues under Mountain Lion that I didn't have before: Last night I recorded a vocal track, but when I played it back, it was out of sync, about 240 milliseconds late. It happened several times in a row. I shut down and restarted, relaunched Logic, and it went away. Weird. I've been using Logic since before Apple bought it, and never had these kinds of problems.

I am also experiencing the same issue as described in the OP, and all over the internet.

I hope Apple are working on a fix as I am struggling to do my job whilst this issue is occurring.
