Mouse cursor disappears.

I tried with closing flash apps/websites, restarted iMac, updated to newest flash plugin but still using for example Photoshop, afer a few minutes cursors turns invisible.
I searched in forum for OSX Lion and there this problem was mentioned several times. Does it mean that it was NOT SOLVED?

Disapears on new iMac too 😟

My iMac 8.1 (2008) 4gb ram running PS cs6, Mountain Lion, with Wacom intuos 4, the mouse cursor kept disapearing and I thought it was down to the processor not being able to handle 10.8 & CS6. It never happened with 10.7

So I bought a new iMac 27" i7 with 32gb and the mouse cursor is still disapearing, and im running photoshop CC.

IMO it has to be the OS 10.8

Dang, There goes my hope that updating to the Creative Cloud would solve this problem.

My only hope now appears to be a fix in 10.9

Anyone here have a dev version of 10.9 to see if the issue persists there?

I've had Macs for over 20 years now. I can't believe I am beginning to consider leaving the Mac behind. But my bread and butter is completely tied up in Photoshop, and this is messing with my productivity.

It is most definitely NOT a third party issue as my Macs only have Apple and Adobe software on them. I have no use for anything else in my workflow and I don't play games. I like having things simple on my computers.

Here's to hoping 10.9 solves this major issue.

I know this issues ***** and I certainly wish it would get fixed. However I feel I need to point out to everyone that says it isn't a third party issue that Adobe is in fact a third part. As far as I know Apple hasn't purchased Adobe yet, so that means everyone that is having problems while using Photoshop, that it could just as easily be an Adobe bug as an Apple bug.

I would agree with you except for several things.

One, it is happening on Safari and Mail as well. Second, it is happening when staring up in Safe Boot. It is also happening to people who do not have Photoshop installed on their computer.

While the could be some other culprit, it is highly unlikely that this isn't an Apple OS X issue.

This is an important statement. I urge you to send this post to Appple:

Scroll down to OSX.

CT, you keep posting that same statement. You must not be reading the thread.

It is highly unlikely that it is a third party issue. So, please let it go. Be helpful or don't bother.

I never had this problem with Photoshop,

for twenty plus years.

Only the day I upgraded to OSX 10.8 (from10.6) did the disappearing cursor problem begin.

Also, I notice when I attach Illustrator files in mail, there is no icon to show the attachment.

The attachment goes through, but it is invisible to me on my document.

My productivity has plummeted after upgrading to 10.8. If you are on 10.6, DO NOT UPGRADE your OSX

till this is fixed.

The mouse locks into a moving zooming or function like that. you should check the latest updates for ps and all the plugins. mountain lion should be updated too. you may have a hiding aplication you don't see in your aplications folder but may be on at the background. try downloading a app that lets you see all your computers processes. If possible in the app then make it clean all the small apllications outside your aplication folder you should try a free app loadables

Thanks for the advice, but it doesn't solve this problem. Everything on my Mac has been updated to the latest releases. There are no running processes that I can't account for or open applications besides the ones afflicted with the issue.

Many of us having this problem have run through every step we can think of to fix the issue. Having had Macs for twenty years, and being a former Apple Tech (before there was ever a Genius Bar), I have gone through more possible solutions than I can list. Nothing has fixed it. Even a clean install with on Photoshop installed didn't help. While you might think that make it a photoshop issue, it doesn't explain the same behavior in Safari and Mail.

Is anyone able to check whether this issue is fixed with the beta of 10.8.5

Anyone knowing the answer regarding any not yet publicly released software will not be able to share it or they'd violate their NDA, so don't expect any answers to your and jonathan57's questions.
