Scripts for Fixes in iTunes

turningtest2 has developed scripts to FindTracks and DeDupe duplicates in iTunes. My antivirus software warns me that the website that contains the links (posted below) contains malware. I am a novice on computers and very cautious. Do you know why I might be getting this message from my BitDefender software?

They are Windows only scripts. You'll find them on my page athttp://samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/scripts.asp or though the links in the posts where I mention them.

personal message from turningtest2 has also not reached my yahoo email account yet. I have no reason to believe that turningtest2 poses any threat, I do not want to discredit him in any way. Just need advice how to take advantage of his highly regarded scripts for cleaning up my iTunes library. Looking for feedback from turningtest2. Please advise.

Hi there, perhaps I failed your own Turing Test. 😕

Was I supposed to leave out the "-junk" bit of the address you posted? It's been a long hot day. 😀

If you are getting a warning like this when you try to run a script that is perfectly normal. After all I could have written some nasty code and you should certainly take a judgement before you decide what to do. The scripts are all plain text files which you are free to open up and examine if you wish. I'd recommend Notepad++ for the job.

If you're getting a warning about the site in general then I'd be interested to hear more about it. Obviously if the site has been compromised in some way I want to get it sorted out.

FWIW AVG SafeSearch gives the site a clean bill of health.

I see, perhaps it is just being extra cautious because it sees all links to .vbs files as potential threats.

I've found an an online site scanner here:

http://sitecheck.sucuri.net/scanner/

which gives the scripts page a clean bill of health:

But of course if I was a bad guy I could easily have set all that up. 👿

Your turn to take the test. Am I good or bad? 😉
