Safari 6 team does not love web inspector

I am deeply disappointed with the new web inspector for Safari 6 on Mountain Lion.

The previous version was simpler to use an understand, the new one is too cumbersome and complex

Am not able to find feature like

- See that data that was posted on a request. It only seems to show the query parameters, but not the post data

- How can you clear console,

- How can you clear previously captures request in timeline

- You need to record to see requests

- You need to double click on request to see details, as opposed to tabed view in previous inspector whihc made locating information much

more simpler.

There may be many more bugs in web inspector, that I have yet to explore.

The previous version had options layed out very nicely across the screen, this one is just to complex.

Hi StallionV,

I agree with you. If you haven't, I would encourage you to submit feedback at http://www.apple.com/feedback/safari.html and, if you are a developer, file a bug report a bugreport.apple.com. Maybe if enough of us complain, Apple will listen.

I just read Apple's blurb: "And in Safari 6, the Web Inspector has a streamlined new design that speeds up common development tasks." Ha! No it doesn't! It make viewing a request harder! And you can't see POST data.

Thanks, figured that out a few days back.

But the most needed thing is a way to check post data, which I still donot have an answer for.

The only way for now is to change the way the data is posted to 'GET' and see it in the parameters list, that as well only shows limitede stuff.

I found a way to get the POST data,.. upgrade to Firefox or Chrome! ;P

This is it for me... Time to switch software. I've had enough of Apple destroying great software. Remember what they did to the old iMovie? Now they released it as the new Final Cut Pro X! LOL! Laughable! Might even go back to the PC if this keeps going the way it has been for the past 5 years!

I'm fine with the new Web Inspector other than:

• Inability to see POST data

- This makes AJAX calls to webservices almost impossible to debug.

• Element Inspection does not expose CSS

These two missing features make the We Inspector unvaluable. HUGE miss Safari 6 team.
