recovery mode no power button?
i wonder if you can enter recovery mode without using power button. i wonder about because my power button doesn't work. ipod touch 4g.

Just what are you trying to do?
my ipt4g keeps freezing i have NOT jailbroken this ipod and i can't manually enter recovery mode or dfu mode because of my broken power/lock button. I can't restore or sync the ipt4g due to my ibook's os x (10.4.11). like i said here.
You need to find a computer with iTunes 10.5 or later and restore your iPod. Use Rec boot if necessary. The you can set up the the iPod via wif and use it without syncing to your computer unless your update the OS on your computer.
is it possible to restore ipt4g without itunes?
If you have iOS 5, which you said you do and you have access to the apps, go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase and Content and Settings. The you can set it up via wifi. You can also backup to iCloud.
again that takes 11 hours for me. it may work this time.

it worked. i'm starting to want to do something to my ipt4g The lcd screen is not working but the ipt4g home button still works when i press it and the screen goes to the left.

How do you know "it" takes11 hours?
i used this feature about three and a half months ago and an hour past and i had fell asleep and i had slept for 10 hours and i was still in circle loader screen. so 1+10 hours= 11hours.
MY SCREEN JUST CRACKED!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO IT TO CRACK IT!!!!!!!
