iTunes recognizes my iPod, but not my iPhone.

When I plug them in, iTunes recognizes my iPod, but not my iPhone. I have reinstalled all the Apple software, all of it in the order recommended on the support website, with no effect. Win 7 64 bit.

iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1.1
