Since upgrade to Mountain Lion, gestures have become unreliable. Gestures for Mission Control, switching between full screen app, etc. (which are set with three fingre swipes) work sometimes but won't work most of the time. Anyone else facing the same problem?

Same here. I need to log out/in to fix.
Saw this fix somewhere else: Shut down the computer then turn off track pad and remove batteries. Start up computer and wait until it is completed. Install batteries, turn on track pad and all gestures work again.
I had this problem but I found it was the settings that changed when mountain lion was installed.
Mountain lion changed my three finger gestures to four finger gestures when swiping between full screen apps.
I found there were extra settings. Apparently when installing mountain lion my three finger gestures were changed to four finger gestures.
Yep. Same exact problem. Responsiveness seems to come and go with no apparent pattern.

But I get this problem both with a bluetooth trackpad on my MBP, and on my built-in trackpad on my MBA. Both upgraded to Mountain Lion last week, both having the exact same problem.

I first noticed this on my Retina MBP and resetting the PRAM solved the problem for a day only. I think I've noticed that it happens more frequently after waking from sleep, though I'm not certain. Also, my trackpad settings are back to the 3 finger swipe, which is by far my preferred gesture.
