Q: Power Nap - can I configure to update every thing BUT email?

I have a android phone and when I am not around my macbook I want to collect email from the phone.  If I let my Mac pick it up then it is no longer on the mail server.

thanks

first off you cannot customize it to disable getting emails while on power nap

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5394?viewlocale=en_US

the workaround that I can think off is to go to mail application on your mac then

Mail > preferences > Accounts > Advanced > uncheck the box in remove a copy from the server after retrieving the message. OR you can leave it check and set the time

Ultimately you should be able to receive both emails on both devices

My suggestion would be to change to IMAP mail instead of POP.  Most mail services today support IMAP.  This way all devices (Mac, Phone, Ipad, etc. ) have the same mail at all times.  If you delete on one, it deletes on all, etc.  As soon as the device connects to the server, it synchronizes to the latest version.
