Crashes in Java webstart application on MBP retina

I use Blackboard Collaborate as a webinar tool.

This starts as a Java webstart application. It works fine until I start the "share application" feature.

Then my nice brand new Apple crashes, and even on a retina display this looks not nice 🙂

Here is the start of the error dump. I have the full dump when needed.

Seems something with the audio ?

I got it sorted out. I had upgraded to Java 7. I used Oracle's instructions to remove it (see below). Then my system dropped back to using Apple's 6 and all came good.

To uninstall Java 7:

http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_mac.xml#uninstall

Very good Oracle FAQs on Java 7 on OS X:

http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_mac.xml

What made things confusing was that the Apple Utility Java Preferences only showed the Apple versions. The Oracle version used a different System Preference pane, under 'Other'. When I looked at the Apple utility it looked like I only had 6 but whenever I ran an app the splashscreen showed 7 starting.

This is all under Lion, 10.7.4.

Thanks for responding.

My Java Preferences shows V 1.6.0_35-b10-428 (32 and 64 bit versions). Java 7 has been uninstalled. Blackboard Collaborate support remote logged in to my MacBook through join.me, could not determine the issue. Apple support could not determine the issue. The suggestions have been to do a complete wipe of the MacBook, which sounds unnecessary to me.
