calendar alerts don't have snooze

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion on my MacBook Pro-13" (mid-2010) and although the notification center shows the alerts I set in Calendars (formerly iCal) once the alert fires - I cannot hit a SNOOZE time to have the alert reappear in 15 minutes or 2 hours or 1 day-- like I could the past 10 years with iCal.

Isn't there a way to be able to SNOOZE the alerts?

Thanks for any comments.

There really should be a way to postpone the alert or snooze the alert.

Thanks very much.

Best regards,

Steve

Carlo TD--

Thanks for your reply, but I don't understand your answer. I have this ON - but when an alert in Calendars (formerly iCal) appears, I used to have the choice to click on the alert and snooze 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, etc - 1 hour, 2 hours, 1 day. (It was rather limited, but at least I could snooze and have the alarm re-sound). Now I don't see that.

Let me know if I'm missing something-- if I click on the alert in Notification Center - it just takes me to my original event - but not to a "snooze".

Carlo TD--

After just writing my reply above I realized that I had the Notification Center alerts set for banners for Calendars. Okay I reset this for alerts.

Now I have the choice for a snooze but it seems that snooze is by default just 15 minutes. I have no choice of 30 minutes, one hour, two hours, one day. Or am I missing something?

Thanks for any feedback.

Steve

It seems Calendars only allows for 15 minute "snoozes"-- very sad that - I'll write to Apple

From the Calendars Help screen:

Repeat an event alert

When an alert appears for a Calendar event (in Notification Center), you can dismiss it or have it remind you again later.

In the alert, click Snooze.

The alert reappears in fifteen minutes.

Please let me know if there are alternatives which are linked to iCal. I guess I mean Calendars now. Ideally this would be a shell for calendars that would simply have additional features like alarms with snoozes.

I have already submitted a request via the Apple feedback website. Hopefully this will be addressed soon, but perhaps this is a limitation of the rather basic Notification Center in Mountain Lion. I believe it is also somewhat limited so that it meshes with the I OS iPhone and iPad systems.

With some 10 years of history of Events stored on the former iCal now calendars I kind of hate to abandon that now for a new calendar and schedule program. In the year 1993 there was a wonderful program "Daytimers" but they never upgraded to mac OS X.

Thanks and regards,
