iMac screen flickers when VMWare Fusion is open on external monitor

I've seen the same issue. As soon as I suspend my VM and close Fusion it stops. Relaunch initiates flicker again.

27-inch, Mid 2011 iMac 3.1 GHz i5 w/ AMD Radeon 6970M

I have the exact same issue with my MacBook Pro OSX 10.8 and running VMWare version 4.1.3. When I run my Windows7 vm machine on external monitor attached the MAC OSX window on the laptop flickers a lot and I cannot get it to stop until I put the VM machine asleep or shut it down completely.

I figured out though if you turn off the "Accelerate 3D Graphics" under the VM Display area it stops the flicker and everything seems to work fine. VM has to fix the issue.

Nevermind that didn't fix it. Still happening.

The same here with MacBook Pro late 2011 and new VMware Fusion....

For anyone experiencing issues with flickering when using Full Screen on multiple displays, please try this temporary workaround:

1. Choose View -> Full Screen Minibar -> Always Show

2. When in Full Screen, drag the Minibar to the secondary display (the one that doesn't have the Mac menu bar).

After enable the minibar no more problems; disable minibar reproducible flickering

Great find!! I've veen running this for about an hour now with no issues. While I don't like the Minibar on the screen, it's way better than the flicker. Thanks for sharing.
