iMac screen flickers when VMWare Fusion is open on external monitor

VMWare Fusion version 4.1.3

27-inch, Mid 2011 iMac running Mountain Lion 10.8

If I open VMWare Fusion (running Windows 7) on the external monitor, the iMac screen begins to flicker or refocus certain windows. They begin "bouncing" is perhaps a better way to describe it. It seems random as to which window is affected. I've never had any issues prior to updated to Mountain Lion.

This thread has people describing the same exact issue, only they are using Parallels:

For me the workaround form the vmware community works:

For anyone experiencing issues with flickering when using Full Screen on multiple displays, please try this temporary workaround:

1. Choose View -> Full Screen Minibar -> Always Show

2. When in Full Screen, drag the Minibar to the secondary display (the one that doesn't have the Mac menu bar).

After enable the minibar no more problems; disable minibar reproducible flickering
