Q: Power Nap on Retina Macbook. Sorry but where is it?

this is serously the first time that apple is dissapointing big time. No one told that the most recent and most expensive macbook needs a bios update before use of power nap. I mean u guys cant make big promotion with something which isnt actually includet.

Under Steve jobs this would have never ever happend!

U guys did sell us a BETA version just to stuck with the release date within July.

On other companies people would call this;

CHEATED!

I did pay 2800 EURO for this macbook .... and one of them ain features is missing??? and u guys seriously did update the macbok airs first??

oh my god!

like this apple will lose all the image the worked the past 20 years!

regards

    Apple has clearly announced that Power Nap for the MacBook will be available shortly.  Patience!

    Do some simple research before you start whining and complaiing like a little baby.  Apple has made it clear, that it requires a firmware update which will be available shortly.

    Of course you could have also done an easy search of the forums and found that info out for yourself that way, as it's already been asked about and answered many many times!!!!

    P.S.  These are user to user forums.  You are not addressing Apple by posting here so you basically wasted your time and breath.

    lol ... yeah right.

    this is not the point! POINT IS;

    I expect to get exactly what i pay for! This is just reasionable.

    And until now... i did not get what i have payed!

    And apple did NOT make clear in any way (OSX 10.8 webpage etc ) that RETINA .. the most recent notebooks need this update too! QUOTE at apple.com;

    "Power Nap requires a Mac notebook with built-in flash storage. May require a firmware update."

    Normal people understand with this that of course older models need this update but not a model which is released 4 weeks ago. Common sense ;-) .. and MAY means not DEFINETLY...

    so what is this? play sand box?

    Anyways ... thanks for answers.

    That in no way implies that a new model will not need a firmware update. It says MAY require a firmware update. That includes the retina model. You did get exactly what you paid for, Mountain Lion. Apple made it clear that not all features will be available on all devices and that not all of the features will be available immediately at launch. The firmware update will most likely be available in a few days, so for now just enjoy the other features.
