Mountain Lion notifications showing up in duplicates (each email shows up twice in notification center)

Same problem for me. I have it for "all mailboxes" and some times get 5 notifications for the same email. Any help would be great.

Have you guys figured out a solution? This has been happening to me too.

Try holding the Option key and then selecting "Library" from the "Go" menu in the Finder. Then go to the /Application Support/Notifications/ folder and remove the .db files contained in it. Follow this by logging out and back in, and then try setting up Notification Center again.

Just to say I have the exact same problem: two mailboxes and only the one from gmail generates two notifications for the same e-mail.

I just upgraded to ML and am having the same issue. It's been a few months since anybody posted here... Any resolution, or are people just accepting this??

Notifications is a convenient feature, but its more distracting than convenient because of the duplicated notifications.

I actually found out what was wrong: you need to go to Gmail and disabel the All Mail option from the IMAP service. The double notification is caused because the mail shows up at the same time on both the Inbox and the All Mail folder.

Heads up: if anyone is using the new Mailbox (the one from Dropbox) app on iPhone, the app will need the All Mail option active, so you will have to choose.

I'm having the same problem in OSX Mavericks. Additionally, this solution is not avilable in my Gmail account settings. Any other solutions?
