When I put any search term into the Safari 6.0 search bar I get Russian http://yandex.ru google results. I've set language to English in Google and System Preferences, cleared Preferences and cache. No help.

Well, the hardest part of fixing that was convincing my daugther that I'm not a climbing frame :-)
Clicked uninstall and its fixed.
Just got to check to see if my flash really is flash....

I'm getting the same thing since upgrading to Mountain Lion.
The problem only applies to the new search bar in safari. Opera and Chrome work fine. If I go to www.google.com.au, then it works too.
I'm not sure if this is related, but since upgrading to ML, I notices that my mbp had dropped off the local network and was sitting in the DMZ!
This is only effecting this one machine. It "feels" viral, and all I've done since upgrading it browse some news sites.....oh oh.... and upgraded flash :-(

that was it! thank you so much - this was giving me anxiety attacks - Safari 6.0 came set to Russian as the default search engine. Why would they do that? I cleared out all my settings, caches, and Preferences - made a mess of my hard-worked settings to no avail. But this worked - I'm nearly hysterical with gratitude!
