No dock/transparent dock after fast user switching

Same thing happens with me. If I log out and log back in with the second user, the dock is fixed. Definitely a repeatable bug.

Same here. I also notice that Mission Control doesn't work properly, it doesn't display spaces.

It'is possible to fix the missing dock changing the position in Preferences

Same here. I also have two user accounts on my iMac and when using fast user switching my Dock has the same issue as the photo above, and mission control doesn't show spaces.

If I switch users/dock is gone. If I log out the second user, then immediately log back on, I can switch back and forth between users without losing the dock. Mission Control appears to work in this state as well. Is there a place to post a bug report?

Same behaviour here, on two mac minis, one mid-2009 (I think) and one mid-2011.

I actually found this thread because I was trying to figure out how to MAKE the dock transparent, after noticing it was on my work computer when I fast-user-switched to my admin account. Then I noticed here it wasn't transparent in my admin account (when I logged in from the login window--not fast user switch). Then I googled, and here I am.

Not a problem or a bug here. Dock for both fast switch users are the same.

Same here.
You need to relaunch the Dock (in Activity Monitor) to solve this problem.

Or you can change the position of the Dock, but it won't fix Mission Control & background issues.

I have already submitted a report for this error, including screenshots. However, I do believe that you should submit too. Who knows, the more people submit the same report, the faster they will correct the problem?

HO YA!!! If i could run my new iMac whit an invisible doc i probably be more happy... to fix the bug Apple should create a check box for transparent doc : yes or no...

The (not so) funny thing is that I needed to create a 2nd user because my first user's calendar became super-slow and buggy after a short while and I had to migrate my data...

Mountain Lion needs some serious TLC from Apple...

I had the same problem with 10.8.1 and unfortunately even after updating to the 10.8.2 the problem remains. Has anybody found a solution?

Annoying is that this impacts also Mission Control and the background wallpaper setting

The transparent dock is SO much nicer.

And the lights are finally easily seen without having to look carefully...

I wish they could give the option to keep it like this transparent

I have the same problem. Quickest fix is to execute the Terminal command "killall Dock".
