How to change ip address on macbook air

My macbook keeps getting a pop up saying some other device is usung my ip address that I should change it. I currently can't even connect to my home wifi. Please advice. Should I change my ip address, and how?

Go to System Preferences > Network > Advanced


Choose TCP/IP. You should be "Using DHCP". Renew DHCP lease for a new IP address.


You can set a manual IP address by switching to "Using DHCP with manual address".


You may have to configure your router if you choose to use a fixed IP address.
