Re-register my iphone

When I got my iphone I did not register it right away because I had to leave to another state. While staying there I took some pictures/videos and had other improtant information on it. And once I connected my iphone to the computer which already had my brothers iphone registered, it registered my iphone on his account, and now all of my information, pictures/videos, and contacts got deleted and all of my brothers information is on my iphone now. How can I reregister my iphone and restore my information back? Is there a way to do that? Please help!!

If you haven't synced your phone again since this happened you can try to restore from that backup that was created at the beginning of the sync process (while your information was still on your phone). To do this:

  1. Without connecting your phone, open iTunes on your brother's computer and go to Preferences. On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".
  2. Connect your phone to your brother's computer, right-click on the name of your phone when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose your backup to restore from.
  3. When complete, you can go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing.

If you have already synced again then your backup is already overwritten and there's no way to go back.

The problem here is that I never had my iphone registered with itunes so I didn't have a name for my iphone. Will following your steps still help? And is that going to restore my pictures and videos too?

I also have another question. I bought my iphone at Verizon, do you know if its possible that they can restore my phone to that previous day and retreive all the information that was on my iphone? (just in case the steps you gave me don't work out). The reason I'm asking this is because I had people tell me that it is possible that they can restore it to the settings and information that was on my iphone on a certain day.

I'm not sure what you mean by "...I never had my iphone registered with itunes...". Do you mean that you never synced your phone with iTunes before? If so then there is no backup on your computer to restore to, and if you haven't backed up to iCloud either then there is no way to recover your photos and other information.

In your earlier post you said that "...I connected my iphone to the computer which already had my brothers iphone registered...". If you mean that you synced you phone with your brother's computer then if you haven't synced again with his computer then the steps above should recover your data. However, you need to take these steps on your brother's computer because that's where your backup will be, if one exists.

There's nothing that Verizon can do for you regarding restoring your information. You either have a backup or you don't. Whoever told you that was wrong, or they were talking about transferring data from an older phone to a new one.
