Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
After updating to Mountain Lion, Safari 6 now sends all searches to a Russian search engine called yandex.com. If I go into Preferences and change the search engine to Google or Bing or Yahoo, then go back to the omnibox and search, I still get Russian search pages. Very weird.
Anyone else having this problem?

I too am having this problem! It's quite annoying.
I found the solution elsewhere on this forum, and it's pretty simple. If you have an extension called Omnibar, delete it. It lists yandex.ru as the default search engine. And now that Safari has an omnibar, that extension is no longer needed anyway.

Ahh yes! Thanks! It was confusing for me though because I had had the developer previews of mountain lion and nothing had happened to it the whole time then but now it had.

Omnibar was it - I had deactivated it for a long long time but then had to reset Safari for an icon problem and that reactivated it. Thanks for the solution Allen - I was stressing over a hacking situation ...
