Q: How do I sync my Messages between my Mac, iPhone, and my iPad?

Basically, I cant figure out how to get them all in sync. Conversations that I have on my Mac do not show up on my iPhone and vice versa.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

I can confirm that Tatanko's post is truthful. In fact, this is how it works on my Mac and iPhone and I'm trying to set it up similarly for my girlfriend's computer. She has two AppleIDs though and I think this may be why it is not associating the correct one with her phone number.   I can tell you though that my Messages application automatically updates on my computer when text messages are sent from other iPhone users. I only have one AppleID.  How my girlfriend's is set up is with two Apple IDs, so the default setting seems to make the first Apple ID be the one sending the iMessages instead of from her iPhone...so while I can still receive them, I have to set up two different chat threads on my iPhone and she doesn't get the benefits of the auto updating feature of showing all her texts messages.

How do I get it to work just like mine?  A few more details: we are both using MacBook Pros with OS 10.8.2., both of us have new iPhone 5s with iOS 6 installed, her computer is set up in Japanese (seems to function identically - I am in Japan too), and the only difference seems to be the two Apple IDs that she has. She has one associated with a US account because it wouldn't convert in iTunes to make Japanese iTunes purchases, necessitating making a new Apple ID and getting into this mess.

Any posts on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    HI,

This pic is from the Version 7 version of Messages and not the Version 7.0.1 version that is installed with the OS X 10.8.2 update.

This version will not sync properly as you needs to be at version 7.0.1 and iOS 6.

    If that doesn't work...

Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding > "Allow these devices to send and receive text messages from this iPhone"
