Mountain Lion UI Lag on rMBP !!! (Let's Make this thread serious and hope for a fix)

I personally think the UI lagging bug is a serious issue on rMBP because this machine cost $2000 and up and it lags on UI features such as Mission Control and Space Switching while classic Macbook pros don't. I do understand that the retina display models carries a high resolution display, but I think the quad core CPU should have the ability to handle it (please correct me if I am wrong)

I am hoping and asking anyone experiencing the issue to follow up with this thread and post your concerns. Let's hope for a fix soon and we can really enjoy the beauty a Retina Macbook Pro brings to us.

Makes no difference... this isnt a hardware issue its a software issue. I have a new 2.6Ghz 512SSD with 16GB ram and so does my girlfriend they both have the awful UI lag. I've read a few posts of people with the 2.7ghz model having the same issue... Someone on this thread mentioned that the beta update for the OS did make the UI better so its a waiting game.

here is in video you can see lags when i'm using two fingers to scroll to next month.

If i'm clicking on arrow to switch to new moth then it's switching fast and without animation, but if with animation everything come tooo slow. And nvidia was turned ON with help gfxCardStatus 2.2.1

please make that test with your mbp. Thanks.

I seem to have resolved the problem by using the gfxCardStatus App to force the use of the GeForce graphics card (discrete) at all times.

The drivers for the integrated card dont seem to be able to handle some of the UI effects at the moment. Either this or before performing the effect it was attempting to switch to the discrete card and the process of switching was causing the lag.

This is great news for an interrum fix. Can you post a link to the App for people having this issue to try?

Thanks!

Are you sure descrete graphics are active?

Maan this really keeps me away from buying this thing. Too bad, seems it's a big, bad and expensive joke on the apple community. It is unbelievable and not understandable how a company can really be that ignorant to their customers because of fame, since I believe it's apples 'fanbase' that brings most of the money. It's a slap in the face for those who baught in trust.

I would also suggest istat pro for dashboard to monitor your various temperatures, remember apple say use the rMBP on a cold desk with good thermal conductivity not on your lap.

(although it wouls be nice to get some decend drivers to resolve this issue in ML, pretty sure the fans need to run louder which is the problem for voice recognition)
