Oct 24, 2013 9:02 AM in response to Ricardo Chisteby Wayne Chin,Check to see if your screen is made by LG or Samsung by entering the following command from the Terminal:
ioreg -lwo | grep "EDID" | sed "/[^]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | string -6
If the serial code starts with LP then it's an LG display. If it starts with an LSN then it's samsung. If you have an LG display, take it back to apple and demand for a samsung display. Once your display has been swapped, fresh install Mavericks and I promise everything you ever hated about your Retina MacBook will go away.

Oct 24, 2013 9:43 AM in response to Wayne Chinby krusty kretin,Hi Wayne,
Thanks for this, but I get an error message:
command not found
sed: 1: "/[^]*</s///": unbalanced brackets ([])
is it the "/[^<]*</s///" ?
and now my machine says I need xcode installed to do this -- I guess it was uninstalled when I upgraded to Mavericks (as was a bunch of other stuff)!

Oct 24, 2013 10:40 AM in response to Wayne Chinby Ricardo Chiste,Hi Wayne, thanks for the reply,
I already knew the command and also that my screen is LG’s, I did not take my macbook to a technical assistance yet, because I saw many people like (Nokardron) reporting that they have the Samsung's screen with the same problem, I know that some screen models from LG has a serious burn-in problem, but it's not my case and it seems that is not the case for the most people.
Do you work @ Apple?<Edited By Host>

Oct 24, 2013 10:48 AM in response to Nokardronby Wayne Chin,Completely fresh install? SMC reset? Otherwise take it to an Apple Store and get a Genius to compare it with the butter smooth floor models.

Oct 24, 2013 10:52 AM in response to Ricardo Chisteby Wayne Chin,Hello Ricardo. I would encourage you to take it in, especially if it's still under warranty. I would get them to compare the performance of your Mac to the floor models and ask if there's anything that could be done about that. As I mentioned earlier, my brother in law swapped his screen to a Samsung, did a fresh install of Mavericks and I personally witnessed a significant performance boost, from scrolling PDF files to resizing thumbnails in iPhoto.

@.`0 6
Color LCD
dhcp226026:~ myname$
dhcp226026:~ myname$
dhcp226026:~ myname$
*When I say myname I mean my mac username which is also my actual name but I dont wanna show it to everyone on the internet. Anyways, how do I know if my display is LG or Samsung?

Oct 24, 2013 9:15 PM in response to DonQuijote12321by Wayne Chin,Are you sure you typed in the command correctly? Just copy and paste the command you see that's in bold above.
If the serial code starts with LP then it's an LG display. If it starts with an LSN then it's samsung.

When you say completely fresh install, what do you mean? Do you backup using time machine and after the fresh install you just restore it?

Oct 28, 2013 12:35 AM in response to Wayne Chinby Jimbobjoho,Is anybody else having this small issue????
Ok so initiate mission control (with some windows open) once youre in mission control move a window around as if you were moving it to another desktop - are you seeing a little line appear at the bottom of the window???
Checked this on non retina models and I dont see it.... so I'm guessing its a little bug... just wanted to see if its only me.
FYI this is a fresh install of mavericks
