Dec 17, 2012 8:53 AM in response to jcbigearsby LordHansee,My mid-2012 rMBP 15" is not happy either. I've been in contact with Apple, but they blame the author of the software (www.renoise.com) I experience.
I made this for Apple to show the drop in fps when the sw is fullscreen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvG6vWVcbnA
Then they asked if I could shot a video with my phone, because he didn't see the problem with the first one. I did and also rigged my (early) 2012 13" MBP with the same sw and same demo song to compare: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9af1f59rq1i0euy/2012-12-07%2013.54.55.mov
No fixes like, deleting files, resetting SMC and SwitchResX have worked so far. The developers from Renoise claims it support Retina display, so I'm kinda stuck (http://forum.renoise.com/index.php?/topic/36681-retina-lag-high-cpu-activity/pag e__st__25)

Dec 18, 2012 12:55 AM in response to poidetby LordHansee,Open Xcode.
Choose Xcode > Open Developer Tool > More Developer Tools...
Choosing this item will take you to developer.apple.com.
Sign in to developer.apple.com.
You should then see the Downloads for Apple Developers webpage.
Download the Graphics Tools for Xcode package, which contains Quartz Debug.

Dec 18, 2012 2:01 AM in response to TheMusicProdigyby David_apple,You might want to re-read what you have just written, 'un check enable HIDPI'
You havent fixed anything, only disabled the retina display (HiDPI)

Dec 18, 2012 2:41 AM in response to TheMusicProdigyby David_apple,Ok kid, enjoy your MacBook Pro
You can also achieve the same effect by using the Retina Display Menu tool (http://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/vi9yf/set_your_retina_macbook_pros_resolu tion_to/) and choosing any of the resolutions without HiDPI written after them, as has been mentioned earlier in this thread.

Dec 18, 2012 2:49 AM in response to TheMusicProdigyby Daydalaus,Themusicprodigy... He is right, you no longer have a retina mbp... Now is a regular mbp with no cd. The idea is to maintain the high pixel density without the lags. I'm still waiting for 10.8.3, I hope that solve the problem

Dec 18, 2012 3:24 AM in response to TheMusicProdigyby LordHansee,It's just a fps meter which I used to show the drops. Not a suggested solution.

Dec 19, 2012 1:45 PM in response to dscielby Jul64,I don't know if anyone here has ever tried this, but it seems that there is a solution :

Dec 24, 2012 6:49 AM in response to jcbigearsby cybeross,FWIW, I did the delete windowserver prefs thing and PRAM reset, and it helped at first. I even thought it was gone for a second. Then I opened my usual amount of apps and windows (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Skype, Mail, etc) and now the mission control animation is nonexistant. It's as choppy as before. Also, even RIGHT after the fix with nothing open, iCal and Contacts exhibited the same lag as before when switching months and switching to fullscreen mode respectively. Sorry, but I don't think this is quite the solution yet...
