Jan 17, 2013 8:12 AM in response to ldjalalby roberto_sc,...oh, you'd be surprised with all the things you can live without.
Back to the subject, do you know if that refund policy is from Apple or the country you live in? I bought this LMB (laggy macbook) in Japan, but live in Brazil. Could I return it in an Apple Store in Brazil, if there was any Apple Store in Brazil?

Jan 17, 2013 1:16 PM in response to dscielby conze,Does anyone can give me hope for an update with a lag fix, so i won't sell this beautiful thing with its beautiful display and get me an older one? Were there any problems in the past with a laggy UI on the normal macbooks!?

Jan 17, 2013 1:22 PM in response to dscielby TheMusicProdigy,Actually the new update 10.8.3 has new graphic drivers and tweaks its been seeded to deva right now and in the description apple tells dev to focus on graphic performance so maybe this is the update we've been waiting for, this is annoying but not as annoying as the keyboard that comes with this machine Godddd it is bad!! Anyways back to the topic this update should do it if not well have to wait for the next os that comes retina optimized , because the truth of the matter is that its too much work for the GPU to handle

Jan 17, 2013 1:35 PM in response to conzeby ldjalal,This is more of a software issue rather than hardware. The choppiness and lag is not only noticeable on the rmbp but across other laptops runing mountain lion. After updating my mbair I started having identical performance issues as I have on my rmbp. They are less noticeable on standard displays because there is no resolution scaling, but still happens nonetheless.
Furthermore, if you run windows at 2880x1800 on your rmbp you will have absolutely no lag. Therefore the hardware is capable of operating at such resolutions, it just shows that mountain lion is poorly optimized.
If you decide to swap your retina mbp, I strongly suggest you go for a second hand mbp with lion or an older system. I know that this is not an ideal solution to the problem but if you want absolutely no lag, stick to the older OS.
Not much we can do but wait for an update from Apple.

Jan 20, 2013 2:15 AM in response to ldjalalby conze,i can't imagine that apple would sell something, if the hardware can't take the work. so i realllly hope it's a software issue

Jan 20, 2013 9:22 PM in response to dscielby ESiq,I am also getting fed up with the lag issues on the rMBP. My friends 4 year old 13'' runs more smoothly than my 15'' rMBP, and it is incredibly frustrating to look at haha. Like, I'll use it for some time, think it's ok, then I see his computer again and mine is like it's going in slow motion, even though it has almost 4 times the power .

Jan 29, 2013 4:11 AM in response to conzeby Wizzra,I really hope there will be a lag fix for the macbook pro retina version... It will make this machine much more perfect than what it is!
Although it seems very weird to me that the engineers couldn't notice this huge lag problems when they built this machine!

Jan 31, 2013 1:48 AM in response to LordHanseeby Wizzra,10.8.2 For the MacBook Pro Retina? No. It's not possible to work on high resolutions, too laggy! That's why I asked if someone sees an improvement with 10.8.3 latest beta see
