Q: Mountain Lion UI Lag on rMBP !!! (Let's Make this thread serious and hope for a fix)

Then I'm truly lost. It blinds me that my wife's $1000 MacBook Air can run circles around my $2700 rMBP :(

Okay, it seems like the problems began after 10.8.2. Can we all agree to that? It is also assumed that within the 10.8.2 update came two firmware updates that allegedly created power problems all over the system, most notably the graphics cards. Is then not logical to simply reverse engineer all this and put back the original firmware before all of this fiasco began?

I'm on 2,3GHz i7 16GB RAM. No lag here, but that doesn't mean I havent had the issue before...

A colleague of mine bought a rMBP back in July 2012 and it ran flawlessly. It ran 10.8 along with the original SMC and other firmware rev. The reason why I bought my rMBP is because how impressive photoshop and all the other apps ran and appeared with the retina display. There's no way I'm going back to the traditional screen.

What version are your firmwares?

After purchase : No. I thought it was not possible on the rMBP to add RAM...

Well, curiously enough, I've had my iPhone 5 replaced 4 times. The 2nd replacement ran flawlessly, returned only because it developed strange blotches on the CCD. The replacement for THAT unit had a horrible battery drain. I left it on standby for 15 minutes and the battery drained by 10%. My latest replacement seems fine. My point being is that each and every product is not perfect, but can Apple at least tell us if this problem with the rMBP is widespread and not just a few complaints?

I think they could just tell us if it's a hardware fault and in that case I bring it back or it's a software issue they'll working on and in that case we can understand and wait... again.
