Q: Mountain Lion UI Lag on rMBP !!! (Let's Make this thread serious and hope for a fix)

I personally think the UI lagging bug is a serious issue on rMBP because this machine cost $2000 and up and it lags on UI features such as Mission Control and Space Switching while classic Macbook pros don't. I do understand that the retina display models carries a high resolution display, but I think the quad core CPU should have the ability to handle it (please correct me if I am wrong)

I am hoping and asking anyone experiencing the issue to follow up with this thread and post your concerns. Let's hope for a fix soon and we can really enjoy the beauty a Retina Macbook Pro brings to us.

Like I said, to those of you that maybe didn't see my post a couple of pages back, Apple contacted me and many other users to try to gather data and see if they can fix this via software, firmware or replacing the unit, I just woke up like an hour ago to find another email from them to help them gather more data, so like I said , at least they are looking  into this, switching over to a new rMBP that might have the same issues isn't going to do any good , so we need someone with the new one to test it out ...

Again, TheMusicProdigy I'm going to say your claim of Apple contacting you is BS until I see the proof like a copy of the email or something especially since this is the only thread you have participated in. You are probably just an Apple employee trying to make everyone here feel better that the problem is going to be fixed. So stop reassuring ppl that a fix is coming and show us some proof.

And the new version DON'T HAVE IMPROVED GRAPHICS, sigh, and it's not proven it solves the problems....

It probably just solved some other major problems and it's nomal they release a revised version after a few months. Stop WHINING.

I'm not just going to ask for a new model. I'm going to demand to have my current rMBP to be CHANGED to the current new one! C'mon, a $3K laptop that doesn't perform as good as a MB Air??? Give me a break!!!

Not being a current owner of a retina model, I choose to ask about the new model's availability.

That was the point of my post. When I wrnt to the store last week the new models were still so new, they were not on display.

First of all, the UI lag or better stated as low fps with the HD4000 on your desktop is not a defect. It's just

an unpowered video card which can't handle the performance. Good luck with siging a stupid petition, or whatever.

Secondly; the performance of the rMBP in the mac stores will always be good since they used a rMBP tweaked OS X version.

Third; live with i, or return it while you can or hope it gets a little bit better in 10.8.3.

Fourth; Haswell will probably not entirely solve it either.

Fifth; use your nVidia when not using your battery.

    Sixth; read those articles :

Did you see that this computer has a Nvidia 650m ? which should be more than enough to just push pixels   , regardless of the problem we don't have to live with it because when you buy a product you need to get the product like advertised and working in perfect condition, that's why it gets tested before launch .

Secondly don't say such things when people in here including myself had to save money for a long time to be able to get this product   so be more considerate.

Really ? , let me see if there is any disclaimer on the email that says I cannot show it to you guys, I don't want to get into any trouble, and to be honest with you at first I thought it was some scam or spam on my email and then I asked  if there was anyway I could verify his Identity and he answered promptly with a case number

EPO@ considerate?? He's probably some rich snob who can afford a dozen rMBP's and thinks he knows everything. Well, my response to him is go work for Apple and get this thing fixed for us. Talk is cheap.

Indeed, totally not interested in petitions and class action ******** lawsuit, it's just wasting forumspace in this topic.

You can't see this as a defect, only as a performance issue.

Anyways return your rMBP, or just stop your nonsense.

Even the 650m isn't lag free, only on it's almost highest clockspeed the UI lag is gone.

I just get totally bored with people saying the same stuff over and over again. Yeah I don't like it either, my former MacBook Pro 17 had zero UI lag, which was great.

It's a nonsense for you. I didn't know that a performance issue in a computer or machine in general is not a defect. Can you give me the explanation of defect then in a computer? A defect for you is when you can't power on the computer? When it's broken?

If you're totaly bored with us just unsubscribe and be happy with the lag, like me with my nonsense.

What's your problem dude? I've been using Macs since you were in diapers. I've got way more credential than you on these boards. Who are people gonna listen to? The one who's got credibility or the one who only rants on self interest?
So we see a leaked memo from 9to5? It clearly states that the D2 production line was faulty!  Explains why some of our rMBPs work and some don't! If the english can't through to you any easier than THAT then please, STFU and stop ******* good honest people on this board.

I just spoke to another Apple Advisor, and he says there are reports of people calling in with performance issues on the recently updated 2013 models of MacBook Pro retinas, both 13" and 15".  Just great. So it doesn't make sense to have my unit replaced with a 2013 model as it may come plagued with the same performance issues as well.

I am a first-time poster.  I bought my 15" Retina Macbook Pro just the other day and I have been experiencing the lag issues as well.  Some people wanted to know if the issues were resolved with the new ones, evidently not.

Wow, after trying everything with no luck, I noticed that opening autocad (and then closing it) while switching between desktops actually fixed this. my rMBP switched from integrated to the nvidia and back again to the integrated with no lag now. So bizarre. Autocad is currently closed and the lag appears to be gone.
