I have OSX Lion 10.7.4 on my Macbook Air. For school I had to purchase Word and other Word programs. If I were to purchase the new Mountain Lion, will my Word programs transfer over and work?

If you have MS Office that works on Lion, it will work on ML too. Only Office 2004 and earlier wont' work.
Thank you. I have read that possibly the PowerPoint 2011 will not work properly. Are you aware of this?
I just launched it and it launched OK and I created a couple slides from a template. That said, I didn't give it a huge stress test.
I much prefer Keynote, myself ;-)
not that I know off, as soon as I finish downloading ML ms office 11 is the first thing I checked everything seems to work the same before download

Hi! I have just upgraded to Mountain Lion. I have the latest Word (2011) and I can't open my docs. What a disaster! Please tell me how to fix it! Cheers!
Ok I just found out how to fix it. I just restarted machine and hey presto docs now open...
I use PowerPoint 2011 on my MacBook Pro and after installing Mountain Lion I am having slide transition issues. A lot of the transitions don't work properly. The bottom of the slides disappear while many of the 3-D and rotational transitions are happening. Not only do the bottom of the slides disappear, others slide's bottoms shows through. Very distracting. I did make sure I had the latest Microsoft Office update installed. Not sure when or if Microsoft will be able to fix this issue.
