Audio not working after upgrade

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, my audio will quit working if I allow the computer to sleep or play continuously. I have to go into system preferences and click on the "line in" a few times then the sound starts again. I have reset the PRAM and SMC. I have read that this is a driver issue for macbooks but I have a mac mini. Is there any thing I can do to fix this?
