Q: How do i purchase a gift certificate that can be sent straight to my email

Click "Buy iTunes Gifts" under Quick Links at the top right of the iTunes store.

Seriously... I finally found the link to purchase gift certificates to be emailed to the recipient, and at the end of the process, I click "buy" and i get a pop up message saying my account is "not authorized to purchase gifts"  ***? Does Apple realize it is almost Christmas? People will be buying gifts...frustrating and stupid...who's runningthis show, anyway?

I ran into the same problem trying to send gift certs to my 3 grandsons in the UK (I'm in the US). The site let me purchase one cert and has stopped any effort to purchase any more with the same massage you got.. I've been an Apple customer in good standing with excellent credit since 1986.
