Sound stuttering after Mountain Lion install

Same problem with iMac 27 2011, 16GB ram SSD 256 GB... sound spikes watching videos on youtube... terrible spikes using any audio pro application like Ableton Live.

Sadness.

I had the video/sound stuttering and random freezes for while, after a lot (seriously a lot) I found out on a Portuguese site that this was known problem for my ssd (verbatim 128gb) and after installed the latest version of the physon controller my system is back to normal and I can use mountain Lion again 🙂

Just bare in mind that I didn't bought my ssd from apple so this will probably not solve your problem.. But anyway to update your ssd controllers (if they are physon controllers, there are others..) you can follow this guide with the ssd on a windows machine:

I too have problems with stuttering mouse and audio ince mountain lion on my iMac. It's really making me angry that there hasn't been any updates to fix this. Is apple working on it?

yes, I think I wrote to apple shortly after the update. But I'll do it again! My iMac is worthless running OSX ML as it is now. Can't watch videos.

Apple is deleting my posts. Nothing negative, just wanting a fix. I guess Apple's moderators can't have the truth posted about bad products. Just because you see a steaming pile of poop before you doesn't mean that if you turn the other way and cover your nose that it is gone.

Thank you for the reply Chris, I am hoping that 8.2 fixes the issues. I've known this was a kernel issue for a long time. It's just nobody in customer service knew it and they couldn't do a dang thing about it.

If this is true...everything is fine. I just will forget this...

Just installed 10.8.2 (beta) and at first i thought it was fixed.. but it is still happening. If apple cant fix this by the time its released i will have to go back to Lion.
