    WHAT?  How can they "not have anymore", it's software.  Just make some more!!!

     

    What is wrong with these people?  You can't just force people who work in audio onto a new OS that doesn't support SOUND and then not allow them to roll back.

     

    Support contacted me, with a generic email pointing me back to the pointless apple.com website of circular support silliness.  Time to short the stock.

    Because they think they are gods gift.  If you have a time machine backup, use it.  Otherwise, might look into windows and dual boot.  The audio issues don't come up there.  At least Microsoft can make a Mac work, lol.  Never thought I'd say that.  But Apple has managed to do a lot to hack loyal customers off. 

     

    The only other option is to contact their online store a d purchase a download code for Lion as it doesn't show up in the store anymore.  You will have to download it, but that's about it.  I've already been down that path.  It yields no fruit.

    Sad but true.  Everyone who knows me knows that I've loved apple.  But friends, family, and co-workers see what I'm dealing with and none will touch apple computers now.  Some have jumped to android too based on apples track record. I won't keep going off topic, but they really need to get it in gear.  With a staff of over 45,000 in the us, it wouldn't take long to burn through their stockpile of cash over a simple misstep if they alienate their customers.  iOS maps showed a hint of what can happen there.

    From what I understand from "support", they do not support OS X Mountain Lion:

     

    "Yes, I certainly understand the issue is with the OS X Mountain Lion (which is the software). I cannot provide further information regarding this matter, because this is not part of our scope of support."

     

    Only hardware is apparently supported.  The website clearly says ML is supported for something like 90 days, yet that is not the case when you contact them.  Where are the lawyers when you NEED them?

    Okay, after contacting apple in Norway with this problem, they told me it probably is the hardware that doesent respond correctly to Mountain Lion.

     

    I work with video editing and i dont have the time to wait for 2 weeks for apple to "repair" my imac, so i have tried to find a workaround.  What i found was that if you do a clean install of your mac with ML, and then DONT install the ML updates, dont open iTunes, and dont download flash player. Everything should work fine . I dont know witch of these programs/plugins that leaves the bug. But i am now quite sure its one of these.

    First point, I agree.  The second point on apple repairing your iMac, I'm not sure how they would do that.  Reinstall software?  As to a clean install, when 10.8.0 was out, this was already tried.  Same with the combo updates on a clean install.  Point is, it still comes back. 

     

    Keep us posted though.

    That's not correct.  I have an I5, and I've also read alot of comments about this affecting earlier macs, and the macbook pros.  I had posted a reply earlier giving out specific email address's and phone numbers of people you can contact directly to begin working on the problem with you, however Apple chose to remove it.

    If it's hardware, I just don't understand how last years range of iMacs have succomb to a fault that ultimately causes a shutdown of a computer.

     

    Weren't there checks with this version that prevented you from installing on a system that was unable to cope with the OS functionality.  Surely that means various configurations were tested at Apple (ours included) to give the installation the thumbs up?

    They must not use iTunes, the Internet, or any other application when they test a OS.  Only the likelihood of customers to foolishly turn over their money for a half-working product.  But doesn't your computer look nice just sitting on your desk when shut down?
