Is there a way of adding contacts from my email account without manually adding them in?

All of the contacts that are in the contacts app on the iPad should appear in a window on the right side of the FaceTime app when you launch the app.

If you want to add other contacts you have to tap the + sign in the upper right corner of the app above the list of contacts.

Yes that's what I thought should happen but it didn't! Any idea how to make it work?
