Can I overlap music tracks in iMovie?
In iMovie can I overlap music tracks? Shorten them? Adjust the volume in certain spots only? Or do I have to get more expensive software for that?

don't add as 'background music' just apply to any video clip - the green audio bar(s) an be stacked, overlapped, shortened as any other clip.
