After installing the New Mountain Lion Software. As i hover my mouse to the dock, the screen flashes grey once, the dock disapears and reappears. I am unable to use the dock for this reason..
please help.

Have you tried restarting?
Failing that try deleting the Dock plist in the user/Library folder. This will RESET you dock to the default, so take note of what you have in it so that you can set it up again.
To reset the Dock click on the desktop to make it active and go to the menu at the top of the screen and select Go.
Then select Go to Folder and type or copy and paste
~/Library
In the window that opens go to Preferences and find the file
com.apple.dock.plist
Drag it to the desktop, and log out and back in again or restart. Check to see if that has fixed the problem. If it hasn't you can put the plist file back and save yourself the trouble of setting up your Dock again.
