A feature that appears to have been done away with in ML is the ability to see the bit rate of an mp3 by right-clicking
on the mp3 then selecting 'Get Info'. Now what appears in the Finder window is the mp3's sample rate,which is no
good to me. Any ideas,anybody,on how to display the bit rate again via the 'Get Info'/Finder window?
Yes I see you are right. Now you are forced to open the song in iTunes to see the bitrate. Hmmm...
Yes,that's right,Gnarlodious, we are 'forced' to open the track in iTunes. But I don't use iTunes. I don't want to use iTunes. But I do want to be able to see the bitrate at a glance by right clicking 'Get Info',which has been taken away from us by Apple.
There are some plugins somewhere that will give you extended Finder info, do internet search and find and install.
I have since tried TotalFinder and XtraFinder,but neither brought back the bitrate info. If you should ever find a solution to this,then let me know!
You can add an Applescript application to the toolbar that will appear and be runnable from every Finder window. If you can find an Applescript that displays song track info in a popup window, open it in Applescript Editor and save it "As Application". Then drag that app into the toolbar.

I have found a solution to the bit rate problem by using an application called MP3-Info,found here >>>> http://www.cdfinder.de/en/en/en/mp3info.html
Once installed,I can then right-click on an mp3 file and select Services from the menu. In Services, MP3-Info is available to click on and open,to reveal the bit rate,along with other info about the track.
