usb unrecognisable message now appears when i plug my old ipod into the usb port on my v70. It used to work so i assume this is a problem caused by updating to the latest software. Has anyone been successful in downgrading to an earlier os using itunes

I now get an urecognisable usb device message when i plug my ipod classic (ipod colour?) into the usb input in my Volvo V70. The ipod used to work, but since updating the IOs it doesn't. Can anyone tell me where i can find a copy of an old ipsw which does work so that i can downgrade back and acheive compatibility again,

thanks chris jones

i'm going to assume you have tried this -

If you're using USB Playback

  1. Restart your iOS device and your car.
  2. Connect your iOS device to a different stereo USB port (if you have one).
  3. Try a different USB cable.
  4. Update your iOS device.
  5. Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.
  6. Try playing audio from a different app. If you can't play audio from a specific third-party app, contact the app developer for help. If you can't play audio from an Apple app, contact Apple Support.

i tried them and still had "USB Unreadable"

My Volvo V60- 2016. My phone iPhone SE 2016

New phone, new car.

Try this.

Connect phone with USB lead.

in My Media tap on AUX. Try to connect. Quit out

Try connecting to HD ( Hard drive)

Tap import. Quit out. Re-try USB.

Worked for me, may work for you.

It seems to re-set the Volvo internal access to the phone

Good luck

John
