I'm going to throw myself on the sword and apologise.  I thought I read postfix not postgres. Sorry for the mail settings and log!! Nothing there.  The question is: where is Postgres receiving a shutdown command from?

Can I suggest that you post a new topic with the log from Postgres asking why it's shutting down and I'll do a bit of research for you in the meantime.  I've seen this behavior with a log with incorrect permissions and with a non-deleted socket and also a lack of resources.  Obviously the log is writeable so that's out!

I'll have a look when I've got a moment and respond to your new post.

    Hey !

Thank you for your time and answer. I'm also wondering what is telling postgres to shutdown...

Here is the new thread :

    Hi redshift82r,

Thanks a million for this detailed instruction to get roundcube going. Couldn't have done without it.

Webmail is working perfectly. The only thing I can't get going is the managesieve plugin.

All I get when pressing the Filters button in webmail, is a blank page.

I double checked the settings for config.inc.php.dist and managesieve.php.

    managesieve.php is set as $this->load_config('config.inc.php.dist')

When renaming config.inc.php.dist to config.inc.php. Without changing the path in managesieve.php. It does take me to the filters page, but I receive an error 'Unable to connect to server'.

    Am I doing something wrong?

If you need more info, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

I guess that's the clue then. Config.inc.php.dist is where the problem lies.  Check your logs - apache2 / mail / Postgres / system for what happens when you select the filters page.

Also check permissions on the webmail plugins directory and the managesieve directory. - particularly the files you have modified.

    Cheers

    Gerry

    Thanks again for the help.

Honestly, no clue based on that. You have some other funky stuff going on that looks a little more serious.  Time for a genius bar?

    Hmm ok.

This is only triggered when pressing the 'Filters' button in webmail.

I checked the log and I didn't see the error message popping up over night..

All permissions are checked and OK.

    managesieve.php is set to $this->load_config('config.inc.php.dist');

    That is correct?

Also when changing the filename in Finder from config.inc.php.dist to config.inc.php it does load the Filters page, but is unable to connect to the server.

    I'll keep digging though.

Final thought - permissions on server/mail/data/rules and underlying folders?

    Don't you just hate typo's?

When changing the config.inc.php.dist following your instructions I was under the (foolish) impression that

// The name of the script which will be used when there's no user script

    $rcmail_config['managesieve_script_name'] = ''; <- this sign

was the " instead of ''

I changed that, and everything is working now.

Great job on helping people mate. Cheers!

    Hi,

Just to update my situation on this thread my sieve filters are now all working as expected. Many thanks to redshift82rfor all the very detailed and useful instructions and for taking the time to help us all.

My issue was finally resolved by replacing my GM version (2.0.21) of Server.app with the App Store version (2.0.23).

Again many thanks for all the advice here

    Regards

    Gary

    Hi Gerry,

Many, many thanks from me as well!

All seems to work well for me (even vacation notices) with the exception that I can't send email with Roundcube and can't see anything in the logs to indicate why. It simply times out.

Have tried changing the SMTP settings in webmail/config/main.inc.php to pretty much all there is to offer but it just sits spinning on the "Sending messages..." message and eventually times out.

Have told Roundcube to log SMTP chatter but no log entries yet which is odd.

Please help and if you need any other info let me know!

    Cheers,

    Steve
